In this series, I want to share with you the ten Best Wedding Images of 2019 from Ken's Portrait Photography. It has been a very busy year at Ken's Portrait Photography and we have been fortunate to capture so many beautiful images from so many loving couples. We have so many great images we are just going to present then one at a time, in no particular order.
This is one of my favorite images from Melanie and Christian's wedding this fall. The ceremony and reception were held at the National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs. I have photographed several weddings at the National Museum of Dance and it is not only a beautiful venue for a wedding but such a rich location for taking all kinds of wedding photographs.
The main hall of the National Museum of Dance provides stunning lighting opportunities for wedding ceremonies. Brilliant sunshine softly pours through the numerous tall elegant windows of the main hall. The porches, porticos, and gardens provide diverse backgrounds and backdrops for individual bridal portraits, couple portraits, and bridal party images. The main hall can be seen highlighted in the post entitled Wedding Venue - National Museum of Dance.
This image of Melanie and Christian was taken on the long portico in front of the National Museum of Dance. This was a special image that they had requested. I was one of the last images that I had taken that day. I placed a portable studio light behind them and used a small amount of fill from an on-camera flash to gently illuminate their faces. The result was this wonderful image that gives Melanie and Christian a halo effect. Of course, the image is even more stunning when presented in black and white as it is below.
