One of my favorite Fourth of July activities is the public reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Saratoga Battlefield. These images were taken at last year’s Fourth of July Celebration at the Saratoga Battlefield. The images include the town crier announcing the Declaration of Independence, as well as, colonial reenactors celebrating independence. Although cameras had not been invented at the time of the Revolutionary War, this grainy antique plate look gives hints at how these events might have been captured by early photographers.
